Job description
MG is a small group of engineers with expertise in the fields of energy, particularly solar energy, and environmental sciences. We are committed to merging these two fields with education and innovation. Our goal is to help communities move towards a sustainable future. We aim to establish our start-up and provide dependable consultancy services in the field of renewable energy.
Past Projects: MG has worked on several projects in solar energy around the world including India, Sweden and Mozambique. MG designed a solar laboratory, which can serve as powerful learning tool for students as well as for research. Additionally, MG is preparing a platform to act as a bridge to transport knowledge gained from these solar laboratories into cooperation between the schools and colleges in Europe, Africa and Asia. Apart from projects, our team has also given small courses in solar energy at Uppsala and Lund universities. We have also done consultancy work for solar companies.
- Background: Mechanical Engineering is preferable. Other engineering backgrounds can be accepted.
- Masters in Renewable Energy is preferred.
- Knowledge in solar thermal and photovoltaics is important.
- Knowledge of the energy market, especially the solar energy market.
- Previous knowledge and experience in optics and reflector geometries is preferred.
- Company experience in solar and collector prototype construction is highly valued.
- Experience in SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD and other CAD software.
- Experience in simulation software such as COMSOL, ANSYS, TRNSYS, Tonatiuh etc.
- Programming skills such as Matlab, Java, C++ are a plus.
- Excellent command of English orally and in writing is essential, foreign languages are a plus.
- Willingness to write and participate in grant applications is valued.
- Capacity to manage projects independently. The office will be located in Gävle, near Högskolan i Gävle (HiG), and that is where the candidate will work from. There is also a workshop adjacent to the office for building prototypes, which can be tested at (HiG).
