Job description
L1 Support Engineer
Provides first-line operational support across the OSDU platform applications and services, focusing on triage, incident handling, and resolving or escalating issues across a microservices-based environment.
Core skills
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and how distributed services interact
- Familiarity with authentication and authorisation concepts (OAuth 2.0, tokens, identity flows)
- Python, for scripting, diagnostics, and basic troubleshooting
- A developer background or hands-on coding exposure, which helps with investigating issues at a deeper level Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact for incidents and support requests
- Triage, diagnose, and resolve issues where possible, escalating to L2/L3 when needed
- Monitor platform health and respond to alerts
- Document issues, resolutions, and known workarounds
- Work as part of a distributed offshore support team
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the OSDU data platform and energy/subsurface domain
- Experience with logging and observability tooling (e.g. Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
- Exposure to API troubleshooting (REST, Postman, status code analysis)
- Understanding of cloud platforms, ideally Azure

Full-Stack Developer
Supports and extends a portfolio of applications across the OSDU platform, spanning bug fixing, ongoing support, and feature development.
Applications in scope
- Ops Tool – operational tooling for the OSDU platform (React front end, JavaScript)
- GCZ Admin UI – administration interface for GCZ (React front end, JavaScript)
- GCZ Proxy – proxy service handling basic authentication towards ArcGIS Online Core skills
- Front end: React, JavaScript
- Backend: Node.js, with experience integrating against OSDU core services
- Comfortable working full-stack across UI, API, and service-layer components Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting across the application portfolio
- Diagnose and resolve bugs in both front-end and back-end code
- Develop new features in line with platform and business requirements
- Work effectively as part of a distributed, offshore delivery team
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the OSDU data platform and subsurface/energy domain
- Experience with ArcGIS Online or GIS integrations
- Understanding of authentication patterns (OAuth 2.0, basic auth, proxying)
