Role and Responsibilities

The proposed position will take the responsibility to NAHQ/SEA resource management by reviewing all cost related items for NAHQ divisions. Representing NAHQ resource management team, candidate will take part in planning and managing within budget and will provide detailed expense analysis to division controllers and CFO directly. During monthly forecasting and actual closing process, the role will also support with reviewing P&L statement and providing close analysis of variance against prior forecast. This role serves as the primary point of contact for enterprise overhead planning and management, financial policy governance, insurance portfolio administration, and cross-functional finance support for corporate and business organizations.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead annual enterprise-wide overhead budgeting process across North American operations (NAHQ, HR, Legal/Compliance, Corporate Marketing, USPA, E-Commerce, CE)
  • Partner with Controllers and business leaders to establish annual spending targets and budget assumptions
  • Develop and maintain monthly overhead forecasts using cost simulations aligned with revenue and profitability objectives
  • Monitor spending performance and provide recommendations to improve budget adherence and cost efficiency
  • Conduct periodic forecast reviews with business leaders and finance management

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Oversee overhead-related month-end close activities
  • Review and approve journal entries to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Consolidate overhead reporting across Samsung Electronics America (SEA) and Samsung Electronics Canada (SECA)
  • Prepare executive reporting packages for CFO and senior leadership
  • Analyze spending trends, budget variances, and financial risks

Financial Governance & Policy Management

  • Own enterprise expense policies and financial governance processes
  • Maintain approval workflows and financial controls related to spending and budget management
  • Review and validate financial commitments and contracts prior to execution
  • Provide guidance to business teams on financial policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Lead governance forums including budget review meetings and sponsorship committee activities

Cost Management & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve spending efficiency and operational effectiveness
  • Lead enterprise cost optimization initiatives and employee engagement programs
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and implement cost reduction strategies
  • Monitor progress of cost-saving initiatives and communicate results to leadership
  • Cross-Functional Finance Support for: Tax, External Audit, Sustainability Reporting, Legal, Procurement, Corporate Functions
  • Support financial data requests, compliance initiatives, and special projects
  • Coordinate enterprise sustainability reporting requirements including emissions, EPR, and e-waste

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Insert Education required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial controls
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership
  • Knowledge of SAP and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and process improvements
