GFB Relationship Management roles are responsible for cultivating, acquiring, growing and maintaining Private Equity and Venture Capital client relationships; building deep relationships across influential individuals, including but not limited to CFOs, finance staff, and partners; cross-selling the entire SVB platform of products (debt, treasury, foreign exchange, and private bank) to address client business needs and personal needs; and orchestrating cross-functional teams to optimize the client experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities will include maintaining and expanding on existing relationships in the venture capital space; taking an advisory and consulting mind-set to guiding key venture firm relationships across multiple geographic markets; collaborate internally with key constituents and product delivery channels. The role will be responsible for a portfolio of clients and influential relationships in their respective market. The leader will have exhibited high skill level at building and growing relationships, along with showing an ability to drive new business opportunities in the market. Strong understanding of the capital structure of private market investment firms (both Private Equity and Venture Capital firms). Maintains overall general management responsibility of their respective client portfolio and ensures planning for lifecycle of client business needs.

Essential Functions

  • Client Relationships/Cross-Sell: Acts as an overall brand ambassador for SVB, and in conjunction with Credit Solutions team, manages a set of assigned client relationships. Evaluates client relationships to ensure SVB has relationships with decision makers. Increased focus on “moving beyond CFO” where appropriate. Ensures planning for lifecycle of Firm needs and identifying potential solutions to meet client needs.
  • Market Visibility: Seeks out opportunities to represent SVB at events, speaking panels, interviews. Establishes plan to cover referral sources, regularly meeting with service providers to build and maintain a network to generate referrals. Curate events that bring clients together and build a sense of community
  • Business Development: may independently prospect and develop new client relationships, ensuring key prospects in target market are identified and covered. Positions entire SVB platform of products, including debt, treasury, foreign exchange, and private bank.
  • Managerial Responsibilities: Ensure employees are motivated and feel sense of value at work. Play an active role in coaching and personal development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of Sales or Relationship Management experience in the private funds space OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience

Preferred

  • Direct experience working with Venture Capital firm CFO's, covering and delivering financial products to small ($100M) and large ($1B=) fund sizes
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining effective relationships in the venture and private equity markets
  • Proven ability to maintain and extensive network of business relationshipss, including the executive management of clients, prospects, referral sources and other influential relationships in market, with an emphasis in the venture capital space
  • Adept at building, managing and scacling a book of business

The base pay for this position is generally between $268,200 - $357,600 annually . Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
