Medical Lab Technologist

Job Description

LabCorp is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team at the Salmon Creek Medical Center in Vancouver, WA

Work Schedule: 2 week rotation, hours 3:00pm - 1:30am

Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday

Week 2 - Sunday, Monday

Job Responsibilities

•

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria

•

Function as a generalist across hospital laboratory departments

•

Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures

•

Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality

•

Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.

•

Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls

•

Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care

•

Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

•

Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary

•

Assist with processing of specimens when needed

•

Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

•

Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology

•

ASCP or AMT certification

Preferred Qualifications

•

1 year or more clinical laboratory testing experience in Blood Bank

Flexibility to work overtime as needed

**Pay Range: $37.00 - $46.21 per hour

Plus 2nd shift differential
