The Opportunity

This is a role based in Bogotá, Colombia. Serve as the highest level technical support to multiple end users. Support Abbott Medical Device IT by ensuring the quality, reliability, availability, and regulatory compliance of custom-developed R&D request and workflow systems. This role designs, enhances, and sustains .NET and SQL-based custom developed applications that enable regulated R&D processes, partnering with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into stable, compliant solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Top level technical expert supporting multiple end user groups.
  • Work with user groups to identify and solve business problems with all available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals.
  • Requires broad and deep technical experience related to studying and analyzing systems needs, systems development, systems process analysis, design, and re-engineering.
  • The Specialist level will have highly developed skills and experience in business management, systems engineering, operations research, and management engineering.
  • Typically requires specialization in multiple software or business applications utilized in an end user environment.
  • Keeps abreast of technological developments and applications and uses that information to proactively initiate enhancements to mitigate against future problems.
  • Will often coach or mentor less senior support professionals

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. 5–10 years of related work experience in .NET development, MS SQL database administration, and production support. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Proficiency in English. Experience in FDA-regulated environments; SDLC/validation and change control. Proficiency in .NET, MS SQL, APIs, HTML/JavaScript, automation, server/web administration, version control, DevOps/Azure exposure, OnBase administration (backup).

Preferred Qualifications

Technical curiosity and system-oriented mindset. Experience working with R&D, Quality, and global IT teams. Experience with system development and delivery methodologies and the system development lifecycle (SDLC). Strong knowledge of Software Lifecycle and GxP Computer Systems Validation. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work thoroughly and accurately, including managing routine and detail-oriented tasks.
