POSITION SUMMARY
Your role as Inventory Coordinator is pivotal in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and flow of inventory within our pharmacy operations, contributing directly to patient care and operational excellence. You will own the inventory management process, leveraging AI to enhance speed, scale, and decision-making quality. Working within Empower’s highly regulated 503A/503B environment, you will align with our hyper-growth strategy, maintaining compliance and excellence. RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management
- Product Oversight: Manage compounded and commercial dispensing inventory, ensuring accurate receipt, check-in, and entry of products from suppliers like McKesson, Anda, and Belco Generics. You will facilitate seamless transfers from Non-Sterile and Quality departments, ensuring inventory integrity and flow.
- Audit and Accuracy: Conduct regular audits and updates to inventory sheets and stock rooms. Perform cycle counts, biannual counts, and adhere to First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and compliance within the pharmacy environment.
- Issue Resolution: Handle inventory inquiries, resolve expired medication issues, and perform return-to-stock tasks. Manage pharmacy waste in compliance with protocols and ensure prescription processing efficiency.
Compliance and Investigation
- Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, ensuring the integrity of inventory records. Monitor prescription drug and device recalls, maintaining safety and compliance standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure proper processing of New York hardcopy prescriptions, upholding Empower’s regulatory standards and enhancing operational quality.
- System Navigation: Clean and calibrate auto-counters, navigate internal systems effectively, and communicate stock concerns promptly, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Team Support: Collaborate across departments, including performing dispensing technician duties when needed, to uphold service standards and support pharmacy operations.
- Communication: Foster strong cross-functional relationships, communicating inventory status and needs to ensure seamless operations and timely patient care.
- Innovation and Improvement: Utilize AI tools to identify process improvements, enhancing decision-making quality and operational efficiency.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Detail-oriented with strong time management and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong independent work ethic and self-motivation, capable of adapting quickly.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in inventory management or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification with the Texas Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated healthcare environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
