Build the digital backbone of global shipping

At Wallenius Wilhelmsen, we’re transforming one of the world’s most complex industries into a seamless, digitally-driven logistics ecosystem.

We’re now looking for a Digital Shipping Integrations Developer to design and shape the integration layer that connects vessels, cargo, ports, customers, and enterprise systems into one real-time digital flow.

This is not a support role. This is core to how shipping operates in the future .

Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will own and shape the integration architecture for our Shipping domain , enabling end-to-end processes from voyage planning to cargo delivery and real-time visibility.

Architect complex, real-world systems

Design integrations across

• •

Vessel & voyage systems

Cargo/stowage & equipment platforms

Port, terminal, and execution systems

Enable real-time operational flows (cargo events, port calls, vessel updates)

Build modern, cloud-native integrations

Leverage

  • Azure API Management (APIs at scale)
  • Azure Functions (event-driven logic)
  • Event-based messaging (high-volume operational flows)
  • Move the landscape from point-to-point & legacy → API & event-driven

Connect shipping to the full digital value chain

Integrate with

  • Logistics, supply chain, and commercial systems
  • Finance platforms
  • Visibility and orchestration layers
  • Enable true end-to-end processes across domains

Own integration standards & patterns

Define reusable patterns

  • API-first design
  • Event-driven architecture
  • EDI ↔ API transformation patterns
  • Ensure consistency, scalability, and reuse across initiatives

Modernize external integrations (EDI → APIs)

Lead integration with

  • Ports, terminals, customers, and partners

Govern and evolve

  • EDI-based messaging flows
  • Transition toward modern API/event-driven integrations

Be a technical leader in cross-functional teams

Work closely with

Domain Architects

Product Owners

Engineering teams

Turn business processes into scalable integration solutions

Job Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Core experience

Experience as Integration Architect / Solution Architect in complex environments

Proven track record in multi-system, integration-heavy landscapes

Experience with logistics, shipping, or supply chain is a strong advantage

Technical capabilities

You don’t need everything—but strong depth in several of these areas:

API-first architecture & API management (preferably Azure APIM )

Event-driven architecture and distributed systems

Cloud-native integration patterns ( Azure Functions , messaging, etc.)

Integration between legacy systems and modern platforms

Experience with EDI integrations and message standards

What sets you apart

You think in end-to-end flows , not just systems

You simplify complexity and make it scalable

You can challenge and improve existing integration approaches

You’re comfortable working across business + tech boundaries
