CNC Machining & Programming Technician Shift: First Shift Schedule: 1st Shift Pay: Up to $33.00/hour, based on experience Opportunity: Contract-to-Hire Position Summary We are hiring an experienced CNC Machining Technician with strong programming and setup skills. This role is responsible for producing precision components by converting engineering drawings into finished parts using CNC milling and turning equipment. This is a hands-on position suited for someone who can work independently, manage setups, write or edit programs, and consistently deliver high-quality results in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret machining blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines
- Create and modify G-code programs to support efficient production
- Produce precision components while maintaining tolerances as tight as 0.0005 inches
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets for optimal performance
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments
- Verify quality and dimensional accuracy throughout the machining process
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow established safety procedures while working in a manufacturing facility
- Support production schedules by working required shifts and occasional Saturdays
- Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed
Required Qualifications
- Experience programming and operating CNC machining equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machining documentation
- Knowledge of G-code programming principles
- Experience maintaining close-tolerance machining standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in an industrial environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred Skills Experience with one or more of the following CNC control systems:
- Fagor
- Fanuc
- Haas
- Heidenhain
Experience using precision inspection equipment, including
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Dial bore gauges
