We are seeking non sterile compounding technicians in the state of Florida to join our team and play a critical role in advancing our sterile compounding pharmacy initiatives. This role will be instrumental in establishing and managing a sterile compounding facility in Florida, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
This position is located on-site at our facility in Doral, FL.
Position Overview
The Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the accurate preparation of sterile pharmaceutical compounds in compliance with USP <795>, USP <800> (as applicable), state Board of Pharmacy regulations, and internal standard operating procedures. This role supports pharmacists and clinical operations by ensuring the safe, precise, and timely compounding of non-sterile medications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the build-out, launch, and scale of our pharmacy from ground zero, contributing to its success and growth.
- Establish and test best practices for pharmacy workstreams to ensure efficient operations.
- Prepare compounded medications and specialty pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a pharmacist, following established procedures and safety protocols.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleanroom suite support responsibilities according to facility SOP’s
- Document compounding related activities according to facility SOP’s and as required by USP 795
- Report to the Pharmacist in Charge on issues in the lab
- Completes training as required by USP 795
Day to Day duties
- Compound non sterile medications
- Perform daily inventory counts, file paperwork, and stock inventory in sterile department
- Troubleshoot equipment and basic software issues
- Document compounding related activities and adhere to all QA responsibilities
- Create and foster a positive team dynamic
- Fill, pack, and ship prescription orders in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform other tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician license or certification in good standing
- Experience with Pharmacy Management Systems (Pharmetika a plus)
- One year experience working as a pharmacy technician
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Basic computer skills (scanners, inventory systems) - Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to comply with pharmacy regulations and SOPs
Preferred Qualifications
- Non-sterile compounding experience
- Familiarity with FDA, USP, or Board of Pharmacy standards
Work Environment
- Pharmacy warehouse setting
- Exposure to refrigerated and controlled room temperature areas
- Moderate noise level typical of warehouse operations
- High level of regulatory oversight and documentation requirements
Physical Requirements
Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, perform repetitive motions, work in temperature-controlled and refrigerated environments, and maintain attention to detail while handling pharmaceutical products in compliance with regulatory requirements.
