Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions including dashboards, standardized reports, and ad hoc analytics that translate clinical and operational requirements into actionable KPIs and insights for oncology and healthcare service lines.
- Design, validate, and standardize clinical and operational metrics, ensuring alignment with institutional definitions, regulatory requirements, and oncology-specific reporting frameworks.
- Work extensively with Epic systems, Business Objects, Power BI, and enterprise data warehouses (Clarity and Caboodle) to build, maintain, and optimize reporting solutions.
- Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of reporting issues using clinical and technical tools, ensuring accuracy and reliability of outputs.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, support dashboard design, and ensure solutions align with care delivery workflows.
- Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to end users, while contributing to continuous improvement of reporting standards, data models, and analytics processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Clinical Informatics, Healthcare, or related field with 6+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and healthcare/IT experience).
- Strong experience in healthcare analytics, BI development, or data analysis, ideally within academic medical centers or oncology-focused environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Epic systems (Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer) and strong SQL skills for relational and dimensional data models.
- Experience building dashboards and reports using Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools, with strong understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Solid knowledge of healthcare clinical workflows, oncology terminology, and clinical quality or registry reporting is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex clinical needs into scalable reporting solutions.
