Job Purpose
To lead and oversee the end-to-end Hire Purchase business of the Bank, driving sustainable growth in sales, profitability, and asset quality while ensuring operational excellence, strong dealer relationships, and full compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards. The role is accountable for nationwide performance of HP Centres and overall business strategy execution.
Key Accountabilities
1. Business Strategy & Financial Performance
Own the overall Hire Purchase (HP) business portfolio, including revenue growth, profitability, and asset quality performance
Develop and execute strategic plans to expand market share and strengthen the Bank’s position in Hire Purchase
Drive sales growth, disbursement volume, and cross-selling of ancillary products
Monitor and ensure achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) across all regions
2. Sales & Dealer Management
Lead nationwide sales strategy and execution across HP Centres
Establish, manage, and strengthen relationships with key dealers and business partners
Drive dealer productivity, penetration rates, and portfolio expansion
Oversee development and execution of sales campaigns, incentives, and performance frameworks
3. Operations & Disbursement Oversight
Oversee end-to-end processing including credit coordination, documentation, disbursement, and post-sales servicing
Ensure operational efficiency, turnaround time (TAT), and service quality across all centres
Implement process improvements and digital initiatives to enhance productivity and customer experience
4. Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance frameworks
Oversee portfolio risk management, including asset quality, delinquency trends, and recovery strategies
Work closely with Credit, Risk, and Compliance teams to maintain strong control environment
Ensure alignment of policies, procedures, and business practices with regulatory expectations
5. Nationwide Auto Finance Centre Management
Oversee performance, operations, and governance of all HP Centres nationwide
Ensure consistent execution of business strategies, policies, and service standards across locations
Evaluate expansion opportunities and optimize network footprint (e.g., new centres or upgrades)
Ensure adequate manpower planning and resource allocation to support business growth
6. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with key stakeholders across Credit, Risk, Operations, Finance, and other business units to drive business outcomes
Act as the key liaison for Auto Finance at senior management level
Provide regular updates, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership
7. People Leadership & Talent Development
Lead, coach, and develop the Auto Finance team across regions
Build a strong leadership pipeline and succession for critical roles
Drive performance culture aligned with business targets and customer focus
Strengthen leadership capability and engagement across the division
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related discipline
Minimum 12–15 years of experience in banking / Auto Finance / Hire Purchase, with significant leadership exposure
Strong track record in sales management, dealer network management, and portfolio growth
In-depth knowledge of Hire Purchase business, regulatory requirements, and credit risk management
Proven leadership in managing multi-location operations and large teams
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior level
Strategic thinking with execution capability and strong commercial acumen
