Job description

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The VP Global Vertical Development is a senior executive responsible for the strategic leadership, growth, and operational excellence of all verticals globally, as well as global account development. This role drives innovation, sets vision, and ensures the successful execution of go-to-market strategies across multiple verticals and key accounts. The VP mentors and develops the Global Heads of Vertical, fosters a culture of high performance and collaboration, and aligns vertical and account strategies with overall company objectives. The VP maximizes sales productivity, delivers strong ROI, and is accountable for global account development and retention

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the team of Global Heads of Vertical, ensuring alignment with company goals and best practices.
  • Define and execute global vertical and account development strategies, driving new business and expanding market share.
  • Oversee go-to-market strategies for each vertical, monitoring effectiveness and adjusting as needed.
  • Analyze global marketplace dynamics, identifying opportunities and risks, and building programs to differentiate the company within each vertical segment.
  • Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams (Product, Tender, Trade-lane, etc.) to deliver optimal solutions and service to clients.
  • Ensure the health and growth of sales pipelines across all verticals and global accounts, setting targets and tracking performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key global customers and stakeholders.
  • Champion CRM adoption, compliance, and the use of company applications to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level training and development programs for vertical  leaders.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and with major clients as a senior leader.
  • Directly report to the CCO, providing regular updates on vertical performance, strategy, and opportunities.

Qualifications, skills and requirements:

  • Proven experience as a senior executive in global sales, vertical development, and account management.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple geographies.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of delivering results in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, delivering superior results on time.
  • Experience with CRM systems and data-driven sales management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Performance Measurements:

  • Growth in gross profit (GP) and market share across all verticals and global accounts.
  • Balanced contributions and performance across products and services.
  • Pipeline health, targets, opportunity value, sales cycle, and close ratio for each vertical
  • Team development, succession planning, and promotability of vertical leaders.
