1. Functional Testing & Validation - 30%
Own functional validation strategy for complex, cross-domain deliveries spanning PAS, Billing, Claims, integrations, and batch processing
Define risk-based validation approach, coverage model, and entry/exit criteria for SIT/UAT and release sign-off in partnership with product and engineering leaders
Establish and maintain requirements-to-test traceability and ensure audit-ready evidence for regulated/financially sensitive workflows (rating, invoicing, payments)
Platform-Specific Testing (Guidewire, Duck Creek Suite, Insurity)
Serve as a platform workflow validation SME for one or more suites (Guidewire/Duck Creek/Insurity), guiding best practices for validating:
Configuration-driven rules and approvals
Product model changes and rating impacts
UI workflow behavior and role-based access considerations
Define reusable workflow validation scenario libraries for common insurance transactions and ensure consistency across teams (naming conventions, evidence standards, data setup approach)
2. Integration & Data Testing - 30%
Define integration validation strategy across downstream and third-party systems, including:
Contract expectations (fields, formats, timing)
Reconciliation rules and tolerance thresholds
Failure-mode validation (timeouts, retries, partial failures, reprocessing)
Lead batch/job readiness validation strategy (scheduling dependencies, cutoffs, backout/re-run, operational monitoring) and ensure production readiness
3. Defect Management - 30%
Lead defect triage and quality risk discussions; drive defect impact analysis and root cause hypotheses by correlating functional symptoms with configuration, integration, and data conditions
Set standards for defect quality (required insurance context such as LOB/state/effective date/coverage variables; severity and customer impact guidance)
Partner with engineering and operations to reduce recurring defect patterns through preventive testing and improved acceptance criteria
Agile & Release Support
Provide go/no-go recommendations for releases based on objective quality signals (defect aging, severity mix, regression outcomes, integration/batch readiness)
Lead UAT support approach (scenario prioritization, defect triage model, business communications) and ensure validation and sign-off of acceptance criteria
Drive hypercare playbooks (monitoring focus areas, defect swarming, rapid regression) and capture lessons learned to improve future releases
4. Teamwork & Collaboration - 10%
Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to meet client needs and contribute to achievement of internal team goals.
