Job Description:
Design Quality Control Engineer
Position Summary:
Assist the Professional Services Quality Control Manager (PSQCM) with duties to cause the methods and procedures contained in the approved Professional Services Quality Management Plan to be implemented and followed by the Design staff in the performance of the work and any other required professional services QC tasks at the project level.
Job Duties
Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality control procedures and quality review standards
Assist in updating the Professional Services Quality management Plan (PSQMP) as needed or as required by the contract.
Assist in providing training and workshops to all personnel involved in or affected by the PSQMP.
Assist in overseeing the implementation of the PSQMP.
Assist in ensuring that the methods and procedures contained in the approved PSQMP are implemented and followed in the performance of the Work
Assist in ensuring accuracy, completion, and quality in submittals to TxDOT and Governmental Entities.
Assist in certifying that the design Submittal packages, and design changes meet the requirements of the PSQMP and Contract Documents.
Assist in providing TxDOT and the Professional Services Quality Assurance Firm (PSQAF) quality records documenting the QC review of the 3-D design model of the Submittals.
Assist in the coordination with the Project Technical Office management of drawings and any revisions.
Assist in the process of incorporating all changes made through the RFI process in the Record Drawings.
Assist in coordinating with TxDOT and the PSQAF regarding Professional Services Quality Control.
Assist in the coordination works with the Professional Services Quality Assurance Firm (PSQAF)
Assist in monitoring the Quality Control of the project according to the Quality Management Plan.
Assist in performing audits.
Assist in completing the Quality Management System Review Report.
Assist in preparing required quality-related reports.
Work in a multidisciplinary environment, actively communicating with the rest of the Ferrovial Construction-Webber 99 personnel involved in the design and construction works, to identify needs and evaluate process improvements
Any other reasonable request deemed necessary by management
Job Requirements:
Required Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Science or equivalent
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required at hire or to be obtained shortly thereafter.
3 or more years of experience in related role or in heavy civil engineering capacity
Preferred ASQ certification and Professional Engineer licensure
Preferred familiar with ISO 9001 concepts
Valuable computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam Revu, PowerPoint, databases, and document control systems
Excellent verbal and written communication and coordination skills
Valuable prior knowledge & experience with TxDOT specifications and standards
Must possess strong attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment
