Job Description Summary

Quality isn't just a process at GE Vernova − it's a promise. As a Customer Quality Specialist within our Power Conversion & Storage (PCS) business, you'll be the voice of the customer inside our organisation. You'll make sure that what we build, deliver, and support meets the highest standards − and when something doesn't go to plan, you'll be the one driving the investigation, shaping the solution, and rebuilding confidence.

This is a role for someone who finds purpose in solving problems that genuinely matter − for customers operating critical infrastructure in some of the world's most demanding electrification environments.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Own quality assurance for customer-facing projects − develop and execute quality plans that ensure deliverables meet regulatory, industry, and contractual standards, identifying and mitigating risks before they reach the customer.
  • Lead structured problem-solving − facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on critical issues and drive corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) to closure; present formal RCA reports directly to customers.
  • Manage customer feedback and complaints − collect, analyse, and act on customer input; identify trends in quality issues and translate them into meaningful improvement actions.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships − work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Project Management, and Legal teams to act as the customer's advocate and ensure programme requirements are met.
  • Drive a quality culture − develop and deliver training on quality assurance practices, mentor colleagues on quality-related topics, and embed a continuous improvement mindset across the team.
  • Support and participate in audits − engage actively in customer audits and assessments, ensuring readiness and transparency throughout.

What You'll Bring:

You're someone who combines analytical rigour with strong interpersonal skills − equally comfortable presenting an RCA to a senior customer stakeholder as you are getting into the detail of a failure mode. You bring a genuine commitment to quality and the resilience to see issues through to resolution.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a customer-facing quality role, including project quality assurance.
  • Sole British citizenship with an ability to obtain national security vetting clearance to SC level.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analysis techniques (5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto Analysis, etc.).
  • Experience conducting or supporting audits and assessments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Nice to have:

  • Experience in a complex engineering, manufacturing, or energy sector environment.
  • Familiarity with failure mode analysis methods such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Background in delivering quality training or coaching team members.

This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance OR UK SC clearance) as part of the hiring process.
