About Us
Foundry Robotics is building an AI-native robotics manufacturing company focused on deploying advanced assembly and production capability for leading robotics companies and national-security-critical hardware. Basically, we’re building robots that build robots.
We are reimagining manufacturing through advanced robotics. Our mission is to rebuild the American manufacturing industry as an AI-first, assembly-focused, dual-use contract manufacturer. We aim to empower manufacturers with intelligent, efficient, and adaptable robotic systems that redefine productivity and quality. As a founding member of our engineering team, you will have a direct and significant impact on our product, culture, and ultimate success. This role is 100% in-person at our office in the mission, SF.
The Role
This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to build the materials operation of a modern factory from a blank sheet. You won't inherit someone else's broken systems or be told "that's not how we do it here." You get to design inventory, receiving, shipping, and the ERP backbone the way it should be done, and do what you've never been allowed to do in the past. You are building the future of factory manufacturing, from the ground up.
This role is for a Logistics & Inventory Manager who thrives on bringing order, speed, and reliability to a fast-moving factory, equally comfortable designing systems from first principles and running them hands-on on the floor. You will own inventory management, receiving, shipping, and the overall movement of materials through the factory, building the processes, systems, and team where none currently exist. You will stand up materials operations from scratch, making core decisions across stocking strategy, receiving and shipping workflows, ERP implementation, and inventory accuracy. You will drive rapid improvement cycles to keep production supplied and on schedule as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end inventory management: accuracy, cycle counts, stocking strategy, min/max levels, and reconciliation across the factory
- Manage all receiving operations: inspection, documentation, putaway, and discrepancy resolution with suppliers
- Manage all shipping operations: outbound logistics, carrier coordination, packaging standards, and on-time fulfillment
- Direct the overall movement of materials through the factory, ensuring production lines and work cells are supplied without interruption
- Build inventory, receiving, and shipping processes from scratch, defining workflows, layouts, labeling, and standard operating procedures
- Implement and administer the ERP system for materials and inventory: item master, BOMs, transactions, and reporting
- Establish and track KPIs (inventory accuracy, on-time receiving/shipping, stockouts, cycle time) and drive continuous improvement
- Hire, train, and lead the materials and warehouse team as the operation scales
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, production, and engineering to align material flow with build schedules and demand
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years in materials, inventory, or logistics operations, including experience standing up new processes or facilities, and 2+ years leading a team
- Proven ability to build inventory, receiving, and shipping operations from the ground up (greenfield, startup, or new-facility environment)
- Hands-on ERP experience implementing, configuring, and/or administering an ERP/MRP system for inventory and materials management
- Demonstrated success managing inventory accuracy, receiving, and shipping in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong people-leadership skills with experience building and managing a team
- Equally effective at a desk and on the floor, with the organizational discipline and bias for action to keep a fast-moving factory supplied
- Collaborative by nature, you consider downstream impacts on production, quality, and suppliers when making decisions
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- xperience in robotics, hardware, electronics, or high-mix / low-volume manufacturing
- Experience selecting and rolling out an ERP system, not just operating an existing one
- Familiarity with lean / 5S, Kanban, Six Sigma, or similar continuous-improvement methodologies
- Experience scaling materials operations from low-rate to high-volume production
Why Join Us?
This is one of the only places where world-class manufacturing operators, mechanical engineers, robotics researchers, and software engineers sit in the same room — building production systems together.
We are committed to being deeply embedded in the U.S. industrial base. Our focus is simple: build adaptive robotic assembly systems that make American manufacturing scalable, resilient, and competitive again.
