  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Java and JavaScript; build and maintain front-end features using Angular or other modern web application frameworks.
  • Work with SQL and Snowflake for data querying, transformation, and analysis; contribute to data ingestion and transformation pipelines supporting the Real World Data platform.
  • Leverage AI-driven development tools and practices to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and solve complex engineering problems; stay current with emerging technologies and front-end development trends.
  • Support code reviews, testing, and release processes; contribute to a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Set direction and goals for the team regarding project impact, product quality, and engineering efficiency; lead major initiatives, rollouts, and phased releases.
  • Provide mentorship to onboarding team members and enable successful ramp-up.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical issues outside standard business hours, ensuring timely response and resolution per defined SLAs.
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.
  • Uphold responsibilities relative to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your job function.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (B.A./B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology required

Experience

  • 8+ Years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrated full-stack development experience across backend services and modern UI frameworks required
  • 5+ Years of hands-on experience in Java and/or JavaScript required; experience with .NET, Python, or Go a plus
  • 5+ Years of experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js required; Angular strongly preferred
  • Strong SQL skills required; experience with Snowflake is a plus
  • Strong experience with AWS required; familiarity with GCP or Microsoft Azure a plus
  • Experience with open-source frameworks, RESTful API design, and integrating front-end applications with back-end systems required
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, microservice architectures, and CI/CD pipelines required
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes required
  • Experience applying AI-driven development tools and practices in a production engineering environment preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Expert troubleshooter with a persistent, confident approach to solving complex technical problems across the full stack.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working across Agile teams and contributing to a shared engineering culture.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to engineering excellence including clean code, code reviews, proper testing, and thoughtful rollout practices.
