Support Worker – Learning Disabilities Service

Location: Glenholme, Bedford (MK40) – Applicants must live within a 10-mile radius

Salary: £12.75–£12.95 per hour + Paid Training + Fantastic Employee Benefits

Hours: Full-Time opportunities only available for up to 37.5 hours per week, Day shifts only (fully flexible between 7am and 10pm)

Your Role as a Support Worker

As a Support Worker, you’ll help individuals with learning disabilities live as independently and happily as possible. You’ll offer practical and emotional support while encouraging personal growth and inclusion in the community.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting with daily living tasks such as personal care, cooking, and medication

Encouraging independence and life skills development

Supporting social and community engagement

Building meaningful relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals

Maintaining accurate care records and contributing to personalised care planning

Located in Bedford, Warwick Manor and Shakespeare House are specialist supported living services for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and complex needs. It offers a safe, spacious, and nurturing environment for people who may not thrive in larger, mixed-use developments.

With 24-hour staffing and access to neighbouring care home facilities, the service promotes independence while ensuring round-the-clock support. Every person is encouraged to live a full, happy life as an active member of the community.
