Patient Care Assistant

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistants to join our hospital on a casual basis. In this role, you will provide essential support across a range of hospital departments, working closely with clinical teams to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

You will contribute to patient comfort, safety, and dignity while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the hospital. This casual role requires flexibility to work across all wards and assist with a variety of patient care and support activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support clinical and non-clinical staff in the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and transport throughout the hospital, including to and from diagnostic areas.
• Perform ward bed moves and provide general patient handling assistance using approved equipment and techniques.
• Assist patients on admission and help them settle comfortably into the ward environment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment in patient rooms and shared areas in accordance with infection control standards.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes.

About You

You are compassionate, reliable, and thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment.

You will also bring:

• Minimum of 12 months’ experience working in an acute setting is preferred but not essential 
• Sound knowledge of infection control, manual handling, and workplace safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
