Cairns Private Hospital is seeking experienced and highly skilled Critical Care Registered Nurses to join our dynamic and patient‑focused team. The ideal candidate will bring advanced clinical expertise, sound critical thinking, and a strong commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality care to patients with complex and life‑threatening conditions.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care, respond swiftly to deteriorating patients, and contribute to a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Deliver expert, evidence‑based nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring, advanced therapies, and complex interventions.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, identify clinical deterioration, and initiate timely and appropriate interventions.
  • Safely manage advanced technologies including ventilators, invasive lines, haemodynamic monitoring, and continuous infusion therapies.
  • Contribute to rapid response and emergency situations with confidence and clinical precision.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a proactive, knowledgeable, and empathetic Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering the highest standard of patient-centred care.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 3 years’ nursing experience in a hospital setting.
  • Recent experience in Intensive Care nursing or Coronary care/ high dependency unit (essential).
  • Postgraduate ICU qualifications and/or relevant certifications (highly regarded).
  • Sound understanding of infection control, patient safety, and clinical best practices.
  • A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
