Registered Nurse - ICU

The Intensive Care Unit at John Flynn Hospital is a busy 12 bed cardiothoracic and general ICU, providing comprehensive care to both post-operative surgical and medical critically ill patients and their families.

We are currently seeking experienced and highly skilled Critical Care Registered Nurses to join our dynamic, supportive and patient-focused team. The ideal candidates will bring advanced clinical expertise, sound critical thinking, and a strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care to patients with complex and life-threatening conditions.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care, respond swiftly to deteriorating patients, and contribute to a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

• Deliver expert, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring, advanced therapies, and complex interventions.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, identify clinical deterioration, and initiate timely and appropriate interventions.
• Safely manage advanced technologies including ventilators, invasive lines, haemodynamic monitoring, and continuous infusion therapies.
• Contribute to rapid response and emergency situations with confidence and clinical precision.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for proactive, knowledgeable, and empathetic Critical Care Registered Nurses who are committed to delivering the highest standard of patient-centred care.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of two (2) years’ recent experience in an ICU or Critical Care environment(essential).
• Postgraduate Critical Care qualifications and/or relevant certifications (desirable but not essential)
• Cardiothoracic experience (highly regarded)
• Sound understanding of infection control, patient safety, and clinical best practices.
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
