ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Logistics Coordinator will support and manage inbound container logistics with a strong focus on drayage and domestic trucking. This role is responsible for coordinating the movement of ocean containers from ports or rail ramps either to a third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse or directly to the manufacturing facility, and ensuring timely and accurate tracking through the entire process.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate drayage of ocean containers from ports or rail ramps to either a 3PL warehouse or directly to the manufacturing facility.
Schedule and monitor secondary transportation from the 3PL warehouse to the
manufacturing facility.
Track ocean containers from origin to final delivery, ensuring on-time arrivals and
minimizing delays or extra charges (e.g., demurrage, detention).
Communicate daily with drayage providers, trucking companies, 3PL contacts, and internal teams.
Share container delivery schedules with external partners and internal stakeholders.
Support the development and management of relationships with transportation providers.
Assist in troubleshooting delivery delays or logistics issues, escalating as needed.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, transportation schedules, and delivery status.
Provide support for documentation, reporting, and other logistics-related tasks as needed.
Create and monitor outbound small package and LTL shipments through third party
vendors such as UPS, FedEx and DHL.
Requirements/Qualifications
Basic knowledge of international and domestic transportation, especially ocean shipping
and drayage operations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and willingness to learn logistics tools and systems.
Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and
external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics or transportation coordination, with specific exposure to drayage operations preferred.
