Job Details
Operates Radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices
Perform appropriate MRI safety screening for all patients with MRI orders adhering to departmental policy and procedure
Perform and maintain QC records for the MRI scanner
Correct use and handling of MRI coils.
Secure safety of MRI suite at end of shift.
Maintains clinical competency pertinent to MRI procedures
Positions and instructs patient regarding procedure.
Proficient in 3D reconstruction
Determines proper technique to achieve optimal imaging with minimal patient exposure
Positions and instructs patient regarding procedures
Prior to beginning any procedure, identifies the patients utilizing the dept.’s two patient identifiers
Shields patients and follows standard radiation safety practices
Uses standard collimation technique to minimize patient exposure
Identifies patient pregnancy status and demonstrates proper pregnant patient management.
Proficient in the use of all radiographic equipment
Proficient in the management of patient information via the Radiology Information System
Uses proper position and identification markers, and identification of films with appropriate patient information.
Applies Quality control measures to prepare studies for Radiologist interpretation
Assures rooms are well stocked; that the equipment is functioning properly
Maintains required departmental records
Performs other job duties as required
Assists Radiologists in performance of fluoroscopic procedures done in the Radiology department
Proficiency in navigating PACS system to perform Quality Control, and ensure the integrity of acquired images
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING
NYSDOH Licensed; ARRT; MRI Certification Preferred; BLS Required
Education: Graduate of approved Radiologic Technology program
Experience: Previous experience preferred
Salary Range
USD $42.60 - USD $52.28 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
