Job description
Position Summary Department: Materials Management Status: Part-Time Schedule: First Shift Title: Central Supply Tech Manage the inventory and purchasing procedures of medical supplies to ensure that an adequate amount of supplies are available to provide quality resident care and perform other clerical duties for the Accounting Department under the supervision of the Controller. Responsibilities Collaborates with the Director of Nursing, Nursing Unit Managers and Nursing Unit Secretaries on an on-going basis to determine the medical supply needs of the facility. Inputs requisitions for stock and non-stock medical supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures. Reviews par level sheet for all stock items. Coordinates receiving of all incoming medical supplies in system, checks invoices, purchase orders, packing supplies, etc. Oversees and supervises the distribution of medical supplies to the nursing units. Notifies appropriate department when specialorders have arrived. Organizes/supervises storage, control and issue of supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures. On a monthly basis ensures a physical inventory count is conducted and stock is rotated to prevent deterioration. Assures that all storage areas are clean and properly arranged at all times. Maintains log of all medical equipment devices purchased and rented; tracks medical equipment usage within the facility; checks rental equipment in and out as needed. Performs clerical accounting duties for the Accounting Department that may become necessary and appropriate. On an as needed basis makes bank deposits at local banking institutions. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
