Elementary Speech-Language Pathologist | AAC Focus

Location: Chestertown, MD
School Year: August 17, 2026 – June 14, 2027
Salary Range: $68,000- $80,000 annually (based on experience)

About the Opportunity

AnthroMed Education is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join one of our trusted school partners in Chestertown, Maryland for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an exciting opportunity for an SLP with an interest in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to support elementary students and help foster meaningful communication skills.

You'll join a small, close-knit district that values collaboration and teamwork. The special education team works closely across disciplines to provide comprehensive support for students, making this an excellent environment for clinicians who enjoy being part of a supportive team while making a lasting impact.

What You'll Do

  • Provide speech-language therapy services to elementary students

  • Conduct evaluations and assess speech, language, and communication needs

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Support students using AAC systems and devices

  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and team planning

  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA and Maryland state regulations

Caseload Details

  • Elementary students (Grades K–5)

  • Caseload of approximately 40–45 students

  • Opportunity to work with and implement AAC devices and communication systems

  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders

  • Active Maryland SLP license (or eligibility for licensure)

  • Previous school-based experience preferred, but not required

  • Interest or experience working with AAC is highly preferred

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
