Job description
Responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting all commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle, from development through project close-out.
Initially based in Milan, transitioning to a rotational role at Afungi Site, Mozambique, as project progress allows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, prepare, maintain, and update commissioning schedules, including forecasts, progress tracking, variance analysis, and risk integration.
- Establish and manage project scheduling structures based on systems and subsystems, ensuring compliance with project and corporate requirements.
- Review and challenge contractor, subcontractor, and yard pre-commissioning and commissioning schedules, including durations, critical paths, and resource assumptions.
- Integrate commissioning activities with Start-up, Operations (FOPS), Upstream, and other project interfaces.
- Prepare progress reports, monitor KPIs, and communicate schedule performance and risks to project stakeholders.
- Support project meetings, digitalization initiatives, and invoice approval processes.
- Ensure compliance with HSSE standards, company policies, ethics, and code of conduct requirements.
Minimum Education
- Engineering Degree, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Project Controls within major Oil & Gas developments.
- Proven experience in Commissioning, Pre-commissioning, and Start-up planning for large-scale Oil & Gas facilities.
- Experience working on complex EPC/EPCI projects in an international environment.
Required Skills / Certifications
- Strong knowledge of major Oil & Gas project development and execution processes.
- Experience managing interfaces with Joint Venture Partners, Contractors, and Government Authorities.
- Strong understanding of planning and scheduling principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Ability to develop, analyze, challenge, and optimize project schedules, including critical path analysis and risk assessment.
- Proficient in the following planning and scheduling tools:
- Primavera P6
- Acumen Fuse
- Microsoft Project
- Milestones Professional
- Think-cell
- Microsoft Excel (advanced level)
- Knowledge of TotalEnergies procedures, standards, and project controls methodologies is an advantage.
Language Requirements
- Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French would be beneficial and support performance in the role.
- Location: Milan - Italy - until the construction activities, later Mozambique (rotational basis)
- Contract Duration: 12 months, renewable
- Start Date: 01/09/2026
- Work Mode: Resident in Italy, rotation in Mozambique
