We are looking for a Senior Learning Consultant (dedicated) to work with large institutions from multiple markets including K12, Higher Ed, Business & Government, etc. as part of our Learning Services Dedicated Consulting team. Senior Learning Consultants will deepen and elevate client use of Instructure products to meet organization-specific initiatives and pedagogical goals across their institution by offering project management, change leadership, customized consultation, resource development, pedagogical expertise, and hands-on targeted coaching. With an aim to lead positive change, increase product adoption, enhance learner engagement, and drive organization-specific initiatives, the team tailors both content and the customer experience to support institutions.

A successful Senior Learning Consultant (dedicated) will confidently build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to be able to understand and prioritize their needs with the goal of providing exceptional value and a positive experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to create and execute effective and detailed communication, training, and engagement plans.
  • Provide change leadership with the Instructure Success Model to support the implementation of the institution’s vision and goals for Instructure products.
  • Use a data informed approach to access and analyze relevant data to track impact, align to client goals and share an analysis of challenges, with proposed targeted strategies.
  • Mentor and motivate institution leaders, faculty, designers, and staff on all Instructure products, and inspire educators to achieve unparalleled success with these products.
  • Listen to client needs and customize deliverables to client use cases, goals, and plans.

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct consulting sessions using appropriate tools and organizational skills. Help leaders make connections between product usage and instructional best practices for learners.
  • Follow-up after consulting sessions to monitor progress and promote success.
  • Collaborate with team members, Instructure employees, and customers to enhance Instructure product use across the organization.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to tackle any task that supports the customer’s rollout of Instructure products, while also following internal procedures, Instructure security and privacy protocols, and institution policies.
  • Travel to support the rollout of Instructure products as needed and appropriate.
  • Understand the functions and structures of internal departments and key terms of the business, and adhere to expected business practices to identify areas where additional support, training, or consulting are needed.
  • Use critical thinking and research to develop actionable insights and efficient solutions to problems of moderate scope.
  • Build capacity within the organization to sustain their use after the consulting period is over.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW/HAVE

  • At least five years of Instructure product experience is required, more preferred, including making engaging Canvas courses that are responsive, accessible and inclusive of teaching and learning needs.
  • At least one year of experience with other Instructure tools.
  • At least one year in an educational leadership position overseeing a team who supports the use of a learning management system for pedagogical purposes, more preferred.
  • Experience leading change, building strong relationships, and rolling out a technology platform to a large organization.
  • At least one year of experience building effective professional development for educators.
  • At least three years of teaching experience, including experience with a digital learning environment.
  • Current knowledge of technology adoption strategies, professional development protocols, and educational technology best practices.
  • Impeccable executive leadership presence and top notch verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinking, strong problem solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and be comfortable with ambiguity while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Experience with delivering quality presentations in a professional environment.
  • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Technology, or equivalent. Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or Instructional Technology a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites may be required. Future assignments may require additional travel and extended onsite engagements in other locations.

  • (If Mastery Connect) Create a 3-5 minute instructional screencast about something an administrator or a teacher would create in Mastery Connect that you would like to highlight. Take us through beginner, intermediate, and advanced scenarios. Use this screencast to demonstrate the power of Mastery Connect to a reluctant user. This is not training, but an opportunity to inspire a stakeholder to use Mastery Connect. You are welcome to use a screencasting tool of your choice. Please send us the URL to your screencast.
  • Screencast - Create a 3-5 minute instructional screencast demonstrating the progression of how a user would use a specific feature in Canvas or (applicable Instructure Product). Take us through beginner, intermediate, and advanced scenarios for using this feature of Canvas. Use this screencast to demonstrate the power of Canvas to a reluctant user. This is not training, but an opportunity to inspire someone to use Canvas. You are welcome to use a screencasting tool of your choice. Please send us the URL to your screencast.
