Strategic Sourcing Analyst

You will lead the data management and quantitative analyses of sourcing activities within the Strategic Sourcing Organization (SSO). The Analyst will include themselves in the strategic sourcing process as they will require working on complex problems that create analytical tools, data recommendations/solutions to problems. Highly desirable skillset/experience using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform to create these new tools. These solutions will include development, documentation, and delivery of repeatable processes to meet partner requirements. The Analyst will need to meet reporting/project timelines.
You will report to the Applied Technology and Analytics Manager.
Your Responsibilities:
- Create insightful data for partners.
- The analyst leads the process design for the collection and analyses of several data sets for the assigned commodities / services. Design, conducts, and synthesizes insightful industry research for assigned commodities to help develop sourcing strategy. Support all financial and performance reporting for SSO.
- Develop an expertise in the strategic sourcing process
- The analyst participates in the sourcing strategy formulation, supplier selection and supplier management process led by the Commodity Owner. Teams with Commodity Project Managers / Subject Matter Experts (engineering, marketing, quality) to create commodity / services sourcing strategies. Coordinate requests for quotation (RFQ), create and administer negotiation tools for sourcing activities, prepares fact base for supplier negotiations and business reviews. Analyze historical and future spend/savings by commodity/departments/locations. Report on supplier performance metrics and conducts benchmarking studies. Support other Commodity related activities to ensure success of all partners.
- Lead data tool/process development
- The analyst is responsible for the end-to-end design and implementation of new or improved tools for SSO. Gather and analyze requirements, designs solution, implement solution, verify functionality and output, document the tool/process, and define refresh schedule or maintenance. You accomplish this using multiple programs. These programs include MS Excel with Power Query and Power Pivot. They also include MS Power BI, MS Power Apps, and MS Power Automate. Additionally, they feature MS SharePoint, MS Access, and MS SQL Server/Azure. Furthermore, they include SAP and other tools.
- Understanding of supply chain and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction opportunities.
- The analyst is familiar with the different supply chain models. The analyst participates in internal and joint supplier/unit teams. These teams pursue TCO reduction opportunities according to the Sourcing strategy. Examples of these opportunities include lowering inventory levels, increasing yields, improving supplier operations, and demand management.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and root causal analysis skills required. Can manipulate data, summarize findings, and investigate cause.
- Attention to detail and verification of data/solutions. Can verify the accuracy, logic, and plausibility of data/solutions.
- Capability to design and apply new standard tools. Work on complex problems requiring the creation of analytical tools, data analysis and providing recommendations/solutions to the problem. This may require learning/developing new tools and deploying them to our organization.
- Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple projects/tasks with high degree of accuracy and detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate with management, suppliers, and partners.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or other relevant area.
- 2 or more years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, analytics, or relevant field.
- Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Excel.
- General knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and OneNote)
The Preferred - You Might Also Have
- Analytical experience combining multiple large datasets into a comprehensive solution. This would contain expertise in MS Power Query and MS Power BI. It should also include expertise in MS Access and any SQL language, such as MS SQL Server or Oracle. Additionally, it would be beneficial to have experience with other mass data combination tools outside of Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform emphasis on Power BI (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI)
- Experience creating or updating tools and the change management associated with implementing the new process/tool in a large organization.
- ERP/MRP systems knowledge (SAP preferred).
- Knowledge of sourcing and supply chain management.
