Job Title: Process Scientist (Assoc / Int / Sr)

Summary:
Process Sciences is a technical services department that deals with a range of scientific, technical, engineering, and mathematical needs from the laboratory to the manufacturing floor. Process Sciences support the following areas Upstream Sciences, Downstream Sciences, Analytical Technologies, IPC lifecycle, Data Analytics, Manufacturing Support, Process Validation and Process Solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assoc Scientist / Scientist
Supports delivery of process solutions to IOPS and contributes to best-in-class laboratory and process validation report packages.
Assists in root cause analysis of process related deviations using scientific data–driven rationale. Participates in cross functional teams to understand process issues in technical and laboratory investigations.
Contributes to knowledge-based reports summarising conclusion of studies, investigations and process improvements.
Presents findings at group meetings.
Produces and maintains accurate records in accordance with site procedures and guidelines.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Sr Scientist
Delivers process solutions to IOPS and generates best in class laboratory and process validation report packages.
Determines the root cause(/s) of process related deviations using scientific data–driven rationale. Participates and leads cross functional teams to understand process issues in technical and laboratory investigations.
Issues knowledge base reports summarising conclusion of studies, investigations, and process improvements.
Supports technology transfer initiatives as a subject matter expert.
Provides audit and regulatory submission support where applicable.
Works effectively and efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to influence a non-technical audience.
Presents findings at group and interdepartmental meetings.
Provides coaching and mentoring to junior members of the team.
Education and Experience:
Assoc Process Scientist: BSc/MSc Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field will be considered or equivalent combination education and experience.
Process Scientist: BSc Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field with 2 years’ experience; MSc Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field with 1 year experience will be considered or equivalent combination education and experience.
Senior Process Scientist: PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Statistics/Mathematics, or a related field; MSc Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Statistics/Mathematics, or related field with 4+ years’ experience will also be considered or equivalent combination education and experience.
Experience in a biopharmaceutical setting is desirable.
