Personal Carer

This role is perfect for an experienced carer looking for a stable, longer‑term placement rather than casual shifts. It’s a live in role so you will be provided with private accommodation in a warm and comfortable rural home. While it’s a live in role, we have an agency care team in place and overnight needs are met by family members.

If you are a reliable, compassionate and independent carer who would like to help us provide wellbeing support for a woman with advanced motor neurone disease (MND, we’d love to hear from you.

More specific duties include

Assistance with personal cares within scope (no solo heavy lifts)

•

Supporting comfort, positioning, and wellbeing

•

Communication with family and existing care team

•

Providing calm, consistent presence in the home

About you

Due to the nature of this role, its important we have the right person. To be successful in this role, you will

•

Have experience with high physical needs or neurological conditions (MND experience highly valued)

•

Be confident working in a complex home‑care environment

•

Understand safe manual handling and your own limits

•

Be reliable, calm, and able to work with sensitivity

•

Be comfortable working independently while part of a wider care team

You need to be eligible to work in New Zealand and willing to undergo police checks, and provide references from previous personal carer positions.
