Job description
What you’ll do
“Good design is as little design as possible.” — Dieter Rams.
Design is a core competency at SixSense. As a Product Designer, you’ll own how fab/semiconductor manufacturing engineers experience our platform. You’ll be both a maker and a storyteller, shipping work that is researched, opinionated, and measurably valuable.
Core responsibilities
•
Lead UX research. Run customer discovery and usability sessions with fab engineers and internal users. Translate findings into clear problem statements and design decisions.
•
Own end-to-end product design. Translate features from problem definition to wireframes, prototypes, and pixel-perfect UI — including interaction design, information architecture, and visual polish.
•
Prioritise ruthlessly. Work with product and engineering to scope what ships now vs. later. Make trade-offs explicit and defend them with data and user insight.
•
Think deeply about edge cases. Anticipate error situations, large-data scenarios, and all the other unhappy 20%, not just the happy path scenarios.
•
Collaborate cross-functionally. Partner closely with Developers, Data Scientists, QA, Project Managers, and platform-users — from spec to release to post-launch iteration.
•
Quantify the value you create. Define success metrics for every project (value, adoption, etc.); measure them post-launch, and feed learnings back into the next design cycle.
How you work
•
Highly productive. You ship a lot of high-quality work.
•
AI-native. You use AI tools fluently to read about the domain, accelerate research, ideation, prototyping, copywriting, and visual exploration — and you have a strong point of view on where AI helps vs. hurts the craft.
•
Structured by default. You write clear PRDs, design specs, decision logs, and research summaries. Your work is discoverable, reviewable, and easy to inherit.
•
Energetic and dependable. You commit to dates, communicate proactively when things shift, and deliver on time without compromising quality.
Bonus — what makes you stand out
•
Goes beyond the product surface. Keen to contribute to product marketing — explainer videos, blog posts, launch assets, demo content — to amplify the work you ship.
•
Learn fast. Curious about new domains (semiconductor manufacturing, computer vision, time-series analytics) and able to come up to speed quickly on technical concepts.
Must-haves
•
4.5+ years designing web/SaaS products, ideally B2B
•
Strong portfolio demonstrating UX research, interaction design, and visual craft
•
Proficiency in Figma; comfort with Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop or equivalent
•
Excellent written and verbal communication — you can write a crisp PRD, present to stakeholders, and explain trade-offs to engineers
•
Track record of working closely with developers, QA, and end-users through full product cycles
•
High sense of accountability and ownership; thrives in startup pace
In the first three months you’ll
•
Get deep on SixSense’s vision, product strategy, and the semiconductor / computer-vision space
•
Speak with design, product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to map how design plugs into the org
•
Run user research with internal platform users and ship improvements to product layout and interactions for new features
•
Establish your documentation rhythm — PRDs, design specs, research notes
In three to nine months you’ll
•
Evolve and own the design system
•
Build the design operations playbook — research cadence, review rituals, metrics
•
Lead long-term design strategy on flagship features and quantify the impact
Your goals matter to us
•
You want to own a product’s full design lifecycle — from problem framing to shipped outcome to measured impact
•
You’re eager to see your work used by real customers in real factories
•
You enjoy contributing to broader conversations — research, ideation, GTM, scale

We’ll complete the entire process within 2 weeks
