You’ll join a fully automated Front Office eTrading team developing low-touch algorithms and centralising execution across the business – at one of the leading players in energy trading.

Here’s what the job entails

As a Junior Quantitative Analyst, you will support the eTrading team with automation, analysis and operational tasks, with a focus on Transaction Cost Analysis and algo monitoring. You will act as a subject matter expert in your projects and be a to-go person for analytical support. You will gain valuable experience within the field of electronic trading, energy markets and advanced modelling.

More specifically, your responsibilities include

developing tools and reports for algo performance, cost attribution and PnL tracking

supporting current strategy setup and live algo maintenance

conducting trading pattern analysis and market microstructure research

handling ad hoc coding and analytical tasks

Meet your team

You will join the Gas & Power eTrading team, where we work to unify, streamline and scale execution capabilities across commercial units and generate profit using market microstructure-driven signals. The team has a cross-market focus and aims to scale up execution activities across different asset classes and products.

We are a team of quants working closely together with software developers, data engineers, traders and other quantitative teams. We are curious, dedicated and highly analytical profiles, and we apply a scientific approach to problem-solving, fostering innovation, exploring and testing new ideas, while at the same time challenging current approaches. Everyone in the team has market exposure and real impact on trading success.

As you will be taking part in the operational side of a trading platform in a fast-paced environment, we’re looking for someone curious, analytical and motivated to solve complex problems and think out of the box. We operate in an ever-changing market, and the ability to quickly adapt to market conditions is essential. We also expect that you can communicate clearly and enjoy working with various stakeholders and other critical teams to keep Danske Commodities at the forefront of the market.

We also imagine that you

are studying Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related quantitative discipline

are proficient in coding (e.g. Python, C++, C# or Rust)

have a strong quantitative foundation in mathematics and statistics

has an interest in quantitative trading and/or market microstructure

are proficient in English – both written and spoken

Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
