Job description
ABOUT AARKE
Aarke is a Swedish design company redefining everyday kitchen appliances through premium materials, engineering, and timeless design. Founded in 2013, we are on a mission to re(de)fine the home appliances industry — combining Scandinavian design, exceptional quality, and top-tier materials in a category often overlooked by the design community.
Our flagship product, the Aarke Carbonator, has earned a devoted global following with customers in more than 30 countries. As we continue to scale internationally and expand into new product categories, we are looking for sharp, hands-on people to grow with us.
This is a chance to shape how a scaling company runs. The Automation & AI Specialist builds the systems and automation that let Aarke grow without growing complexity, making operations more seamless, more streamlined and more scalable as the business expands.
THE POSITION
The role keeps Aarke's systems connected and working together, and improves how the company runs by automating manual, repetitive work. Aarke's integrations are spread across several tools and partners rather than one platform, and the role works across that landscape, covering ERP, e-commerce, customer support, marketing and logistics, using automation and AI to make day-to-day work faster, more accurate and less manual.
This reaches well beyond operations. Much of the value sits on the commercial and online side, in the e-commerce platform, the support and marketing tools, and the customer and order data that flow between them. The role works closely with the Online team and supports the systems and automation behind Aarke's growth as well as the back-office operations. We are looking for a builder and operator with real, hands-on experience building tools, apps and automations with AI, who enjoys working across both business and technology and cares that what they build runs reliably in the business. We also want someone who is not tied to any one technology: someone who builds well on what we have, keeps a clear view of what good looks like elsewhere, and is confident and bold enough to bring in better ways of doing things. It reports to the COO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
System and Integrations
Aarke's integration landscape is spread across several tools and external partners. ERP integrations are built in code units and OmniConnect, EDI runs through Connectpointz, Shopify integrations are handled variously by the WMS and 3PL, our e-commerce agency or in-house, and automation work runs through Make.com and similar tools. A central part of the role is working across this landscape, keeping data flowing cleanly between systems and bringing more structure and coherence to how it all fits together. This includes work across:
- E-commerce and online, including the Shopify operational backend and its integrations, and the data flows that connect the webshop to the rest of the business. Shopify integrations today sit with various actors (the WMS or 3PL, our e-commerce agency, or in-house), and this role helps coordinate and improve them. This is the system behind the storefront, working alongside the online team who own the storefront itself.
- Customer support and marketing tools, including the Gorgias integration and the connections to the marketing and CRM stack such as Klaviyo, keeping support, commerce, marketing and ERP in sync.
- ERP integrations (Microsoft Business Central), where integrations are built in code units and OmniConnect, working with the external provider that operates the ERP.
- Supply chain and warehouse systems, including WMS administration and the data flows to and from our 3PL partners.
- EDI with retailers and trading partners through Connectpointz, including onboarding new partners and resolving errors.
- Automation across these systems using Make.com and similar tools, connecting the operational and commercial stack where it removes manual work.
Automation and AI
- Build the automation and AI that let the company handle more volume and complexity without adding manual effort, so operations scale as Aarke grows.
- Find manual, repetitive or error-prone processes across the company, in operations and on the commercial side, and remove the friction: order handling, data entry, reporting preparation, exception handling and similar work.
- Build practical AI-supported workflows that save time and improve accuracy in everyday work, including the tools the online, sales and support teams rely on.
- Build internal tools and small apps where they solve a real problem, using modern AI-assisted development and deployment tools to do it quickly and well.
- Evaluate and introduce tools that improve how the teams work.
- Be the person teams turn to when a process is manual or held together by hand, and help them find a better way.
Reliability and Documentation
- Keep the integrations and automations running reliably, monitor the flows, resolve issues and manage changes.
- Document how things are built so they are maintainable and not dependent on one person.
- Partner with the Data & Analytics Lead. This role looks after the systems and the automation, the Data & Analytics Lead looks after the data platform and reporting.
WHO ARE YOU?
You are a hands-on builder who ships things that actually work — not just demos. You care about the details and have the judgment to build solutions that hold up in real day-to-day use. You notice manual work and want to make it simpler, and you are naturally collaborative, comfortable moving across teams and different parts of the business. You are not attached to any one technology, stay curious about what good looks like elsewhere, and are confident enough to challenge the current setup and try better approaches — without over-engineering or chasing novelty for its own sake.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A builder and operator with hands-on experience designing and shipping working tools, apps and automations. This is someone who builds, rather than someone who only specifies or prototypes.
- Strong AI fluency, with real experience building apps, tools and automations using AI, both AI-assisted development and AI built into the workflows themselves.
- Hands-on with modern build-and-deploy tools. Experience with platforms such as Lovable, Vercel, Claude Code and Postgres databases is a strong advantage.
- Experience working with business systems integration, connecting ERP, e-commerce, support and logistics systems.
- Experience administering or integrating ERP (Business Central an advantage) and warehouse or supply chain systems.
- Familiarity with EDI and trading-partner integration is an advantage.
- Comfortable with automation and integration tools such as Make.com , and with the Shopify backend.
- Comfortable across both keeping systems running and building new things.
- Fluency in English.
