Job description

GMC Danvers is looking for an experienced Automotive Parts Advisor / Parts Counter Person to join their award-winning team.

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $65,000-$85,000

Responsibilities

Assist all customers (retail, wholesale and internal) in selecting required parts

Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials

Manage phone calls, provide price quotes and necessary information

Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and keep the computer system up to date

Notify customers when ordered parts have arrived and when they will be delivered

Responsible for payment transactions and record keeping for all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts

Replenish assigned inventory daily and set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up

Follow up on back-ordered parts

Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary

Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention

Participate in training programs to keep current on new products and product updates

Assist in parts delivery as needed

Qualifications

1+ year parts experience in a dealership environment

21+ years old

Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Basic catalog and phone skills

Excellent communication skills between customers, dispatch, and employees

Ability to lift 50 lbs

Ability to repeatedly bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and be able to reach upper shelves with the use of a ladder when necessary
