Job description
Role Purpose
Drives the performance, growth, and operational excellence of the eCommerce platform and mobile app, combining digital strategy, commercial leadership, and cross-functional influence. Reporting to the Omnicommerce Director, the role defines the strategic direction for conversion, acquisition, and digital experience across all channels, while partnering with Omnicommerce, Offer, Marketing, and Technology teams to ensure a cohesive, commercially focused digital strategy.
Key Responsibilities
•
Define and drive the overall digital strategy for eCommerce and mobile app aligned to commercial goals
•
Manage campaign execution, landing pages, and promotional content in collaboration with marketing teams
•
Set governance for digital content, banners, promotions, and lifecycle management across all channels
•
Lead promotional strategy including discounts, vouchers, bundling, push notifications, and in-app messaging
•
Oversee AI chatbot strategy, site search, merchandising, and digital discovery optimisation
•
Own UX/UI quality standards, UX briefs approval, and ensure strong customer experience outcomes
•
Lead CRO strategy including A/B testing, personalisation, segmentation, and experimentation frameworks
•
Drive analytics and KPI reporting, ensuring data-driven decision-making across conversion and performance metrics
•
Manage cross-functional digital projects and align teams across marketing, offer, technology, and design
•
Identify growth opportunities, improve revenue performance, and strengthen customer retention strategies
Qualification and Experience
•
Matric (Grade 12) required
•
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field (advantageous)
•
Certifications in GA4, Google Ads, or related digital marketing tools, with CRO, UX, or personalisation training (advantageous)
•
5–8 years eCommerce experience, ideally in senior or leadership roles within retail or high-volume digital environments
•
Strong expertise in CRO, SEO, SEM, analytics (GA4), and data-driven digital optimisation
•
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and work across diverse digital platforms and tools
•
Commercially minded, detail-oriented, adaptable, and strong communicator with a focus on performance and continuous improvement
