Job description
Senior Quality Assurance Manager (Manufacturing)
Building on €1.000.000 pre-seed investment from our investors in the Netherlands, Germany, and Turkiye, we continue on our mission to build a world-class team to create the most successful startup Europe has seen in the manufacturing industry. We are looking for new team members to help us achieve our ambition in the global scene.
Interested in joining a dynamic team comprised of people who back-packed in South-America for months, or played music on stage to tens of thousands of people, or travelled through African landscape only to end up getting stranded in a forest after a heavy rain? This might be an opportunity not to miss (for those who dare).
Rototip is Turkiye's largest and Northern Europe's second largest manufacturing marketplace, connecting companies that need manufactured goods with factories across Europe. As we scale our operations and deepen our commitment to quality, we're hiring a Senior Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality department.
You'll manage a team of experienced Quality Control Engineers, report directly to the Head of Operations and the CEO, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with our manufacturing teams as boots on the ground. You'll also be a key voice in cross-functional conversations: partnering with our Customer Success team on the Customer front, and collaborating with our Designer and Software Developers on the digital front as we automate and digitise our quality processes.
The ideal candidate is someone who is obsessed with measurement technologies and committed to delivering flawless service to customers. This is a perfect role for you if you are experienced in & passionate about manufacturing technologies (CNC machining, sheet fabrication, welding) and coating applications (anodising, nickel plating, powder coating, and more), and have some basic knowledge about quality management systems. This is not a management-only role, and the candidates are expected to spend 80% of their time in the workshop & office, and 20% on reporting and management. For instance, every single person in the company knows how to check the quality of threads on a machined part with a thread gauge. An ideal candidate is one who never underestimates every detail that matters to our customers.
What you'll do
•
Own the quality management system: incoming inspection, in-process controls, and final checks across machining, cutting, bending, welding, coating, and related processes
•
Lead, develop, and support a team of three QC Engineers
•
Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurring defects
•
Maintain and improve quality documentation, reporting, and KPI tracking
•
Manage calibration schedules and equipment procurement for the quality lab
•
Collaborate with Senior Project Managers to resolve customer quality concerns and uphold service-level commitments
•
Partner with our UI Designer to define and build tooling that automates quality workflows
•
Represent quality in supplier conversations and support procurement decisions
Qualifications
Must-have
•
Bachelor's or master's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, metallurgical, or industrial engineering
•
At least 10 (preferably 15) years of experience in manufacturing quality, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
•
Solid knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and related processes, as well as various coating applications; familiarity with extrusion, casting, forging, or injection moulding is a plus
•
Proficiency with measurement tools (callipers, micrometres, height gauges, CMM, and tens of other tools)
•
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
•
Strong written and spoken English — you'll communicate regularly with customers and partners across Europe
•
Excellent research skills; ability to learn new manufacturing techniques and metrology methods, explain and teach others in the team
•
Excellent MS Excel skills and comfort with data-driven decision-making
•
Residency in Ankara; ability to travel when needed
•
No military obligation for male candidates
•
Excellent command of Turkish and English
Nice-to-have
•
Experience coordinating quality or supplier standards across multiple geographies — we're expanding our supply chain across Serbia, Czechia, Poland, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the UK, and someone who can help navigate that complexity would be a strong fit
•
Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001
•
Familiarity with ERP or quality management software
•
Experience working with Western European customers or suppliers
•
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, specifically 5S and Kaizen frameworks.
What’s in it for you?
•
Hybrid working (option to work from home 1 day a week)
•
Career coach for women employees
•
Challenging, entrepreneurial environment where your decisions have real, visible impact
•
Chance to work with a small founding team and shape how quality is built at scale
Although we’re looking for someone who has all the qualifications listed above, we would still like to advise you to apply even if you miss one of more qualifying skills. In this case, please advise in your application how you’re planning to improve on those areas or how else you could help Rototip.
