About the Role

As a Senior Sales Advisor at M&S Opticians, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality eye and hearing care services while promoting our offerings within the wider M&S store. Your role will involve optimising sales opportunities, training and supporting our teams, maintaining customer records, managing stock, and providing exceptional customer service. You will assist patients in selecting the right eyewear, educating them on care and maintenance, and ensuring a seamless experience. With a strong retail background and excellent communication skills, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, making a meaningful impact on our customers’ lives. As a member of the management team, you will support the team through coaching and training and deliver on business targets.

Key Responsibilities

Lead by example in promoting optical and hearing services within the store to drive appointments

Maintain accurate customer records and manage stock levels

Provide outstanding customer service and handle enquiries professionally

Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses suited to their needs and lifestyle

Perform adjustments and repairs

Schedule and confirm patient appointments

Support the fitting and dispensing of contact lenses

Conduct preliminary pre-tests and measurements

Support management in achieving store sales targets

Support marketing initiatives and special events

Coaching and training the team

Lead by example to deliver store targets

About You

You are a customer-focused and detail-oriented professional with a passion for helping others. With a strong optical background and excellent communication skills, you enjoy building rapport with customers and providing expert guidance on eyewear selection. Your ability to multitask, stay organised, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment makes you a valuable team member. You are committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience through leading by example and supporting/training the team.

Key Requirements

Strong background in retail, customer service, or sales

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities

Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting

Commercial awareness and ability to maximise sales opportunities

Ability to coach and support in leading a team to success

Previous optical experience essential - Minimum 3 years
