What you’ll do

Together with the Fermentation team you will drive the optimization and upscaling of our CO2-to-chemical process. Your work will be pivotal in making our process the go-to technology for green chemical manufacturing.

Responsibilities

•

Running continuous gas fermentation processes at laboratory scale

•

Formulating strategies for optimizing and upscaling the process from lab-scale to commercial scale

•

Improving the understanding of the process by statistical-enabled experimental design and data analysis

•

Coordinating collaborations with the other teams, contract research organizations, and project partners

•

Processing, reporting, and presenting results

•

Developing standard operating procedures

•

Providing guidance and coaching to interns and operators

•

Contributing to patent filing

Job Requirements

About you

Minimum Requirements

•

Hands-on experience with gas fermentation

•

3-6 years of experience in fermentation

•

Practical experience with microbial cultivation and fermentation

•

Relevant education (PhD degree or MSc with subsequent work experience) in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology or a related field

•

Proven ability in interpreting scientific data

•

Solid understanding of statistics

•

Getting-things-done attitude

•

An open-mind and positive attitude to achieve results as a team

Preferred Requirements

•

Expertise with scale-up of fermentation processes

•

Experience with cultivation of non-standard microorganisms

•

Understanding of microbial physiology and metabolism

•

A knack for meaningful data visualization

•

Experience with (online) gas analysis
