Our QC department is looking for a (Interim) Quality Control Manager who's able to lead and optimize qc laboratory activities in our Nijmegen plant.
What will you do?
As an Interim Quality Control Manager , you are responsible for leading and optimizing all quality activities within the ISO17025 accredited laboratory in our Nijmegen plant. You ensure that all testing processes meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements, safeguarding product quality, food safety, and compliance.
You oversee chemical, microbiological, in-process and physical laboratory activities, while driving continuous improvement in efficiency, turnaround time and cost-effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include
Quality Control
•
Ensuring raw material sampling, testing, and executed according to procedures and regulatory requirements
•
Delivering accurate and timely test results aligned with production, planning and QA needs
•
Driving continuous improvement of lab processes, efficiency and cost optimization
•
Managing and improving the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
•
Ensuring compliance with Quality, GMP and EHS standards and maintaining a safe work environment
•
Managing departmental budgets and monitoring performance
Methods & Continuous Improvement
•
Implementing efficient testing strategies, new equipment and methodologies
•
Aligning local practices with global QC standards and projects
•
Leading method validations and change control processes
•
Initiating and implementing corrective actions and improvement projects
Leadership
•
Leading, coaching and developing the QC team (direct and indirect reports)
•
Ensuring the right staffing and capability to meet operational goals
•
Driving performance management, development and engagement
•
Setting departmental goals aligned with business objectives
•
Monitoring performance and implementing improvements where needed
•
Acting as a key stakeholder across QA, Operations, R&D and Supply Chain
What do you bring?
•
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology or a related field
•
Minimum 5 years of experience in a QA/QC role within food, pharma or nutritional industry
•
Strong knowledge of GMP, GLP, EHS and quality systems
•
Experience with raw materials, release testing and stability processes
•
Familiar with QMS and laboratory systems (e.g. LIMS)
•
Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause investigation skills
•
Experience in managing teams and cross-functional collaboration
•
Strong communication skills in English and Dutch

A fulltime contract with excellent working conditions and a competitive salary of around €83K to €105K (base pay + holiday allowance), depending on knowledge and experience.
