Job description

Woolwich Community Health Centre (WCHC), a multi-site health centre with locations in St. Jacobs, Wellesley, Linwood and New Hamburg. WCHC requires a Chiropodist for the New Hamburg site . This position is permanent part-time for 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE). The Chiropodist will develop and maintain a full range of chiropody services to WCHC and sustain therapeutic relationship with clients.

Skills and experience

  • Graduated from an accredited school of chiropody and be licensed by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
  • Has a minimum 2-year experience in the field in a primary care setting an asset. New graduates will be considered.
  • Skills/experience to fulfil major functions of role: assist in managing foot disorders, assess, diagnose, prescribe, and carryout treatments related to foot.
  • Perform and maintain best practices for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of medical equipment and workplace.
  • Skills/experience in providing educational sessions of a preventative nature.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and issue management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, within the inter-disciplinary team setting and with clients and community members.
  • Supervision of others: students, as mutually agreed by Chiropodist and WCHC Management Team
  • Strong facility with computer; previous experience with electronic medical records would be an asset.
  • Car required for home visits when needed.

  • Salary of $74,406 to $82,340 per year (pro-rated to working status)
  • 4 weeks paid vacation (pro-rated to working status)

  • Enrolment in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
