An ENR Top 400 Contractor, ENR Top 100 Green Contractor, and BD+C Top 150 Contractor with nine offices, Rycon specializes in new construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects. We have an in-house Architectural Finishes & Specialty Fabrication Division that ships/installs nationally.
We are seeking an experienced H uman R esource G eneralist at our headquarters in Pittsburgh .
What you will do
- Administer employee benefit programs through the company HRIS and carrier platforms, including enrollments, life event changes, reconciliations, and monthly invoice processing .
- Coordinate and execute employee offboarding processes, including preparation of separation documentation, benefit continuation/conversion (COBRA, life, 401(k)), and conducting exit interviews .
- Support the administration of FMLA and disability leaves (short- and long-term), ensuring timely documentation, tracking, and compliance with applicable laws .
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, both electronic and physical, in accordance with company standards and legal requirements .
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and practices .
- Partner in the onboarding experience by delivering benefits education and HRIS training to new hires .
- Participate in employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations, while maintaining appropriate documentation .
- Serve as a point of contact for employee HR inquiries, delivering a high level of service and timely resolution .
- Support recruiting efforts as needed, including interview coordination and process backup .
- Maintain and audit HR data, reports, and spreadsheets to ensure accuracy and readiness for internal and external review .
- Prepare materials and presentations in support of HR and business initiatives .
- Stay current on HR best practices, regulatory updates, and emerging trends in human resources .
What you will need to be successful
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources , Business Administration, or related field ( Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including benefits administration and employee relations
- Demonstrated experience working with HRIS platforms and benefits systems; ability to quickly learn new systems
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines, particularly in leave administration and compliance processes
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, audit-ready records
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Experience supporting employee relations matters, including investigations and disciplinary processes
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
