Job description

About Us

At Harnest, we're Built for Impact - and we build for it. As part of the Mazzei Group, we're one of Victoria's leading providers of social / affordable housing, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and medium-density developments, creating homes and communities that make a real difference for the people who need them most.

That purpose runs on a serious commercial engine. With annual turnover exceeding $100 million and a forward pipeline of more than $150 million, we're a fully integrated business delivering end-to-end solutions across construction, design and development. Join us and you'll contribute to genuinely meaningful projects while building your career in a growing, well-established business - where purpose and commercial strength go hand in hand.

What you will be doing.

Working closely with government agencies, community housing providers, and social impact developers you will deliver high-quality essential housing solutions that create lasting social impact for communities across Victoria and South Australia.

Lead the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of social housing and SDA projects

Establish and maintain disciplined controls across project cost, programme, risk and reporting functions

Manage AS-based head contracts, variations, EOT’s and commercial risk with confidence

Build trusted relationships with government, client, consultant and authority stakeholders

Mentor Project Coordinators, Contract Administrators and Site teams, embedding consistent standards and behaviours

Drive a culture of equality, safety and continuous improvements across the portfolio

Support resource planning, sequencing and performance reporting to ensure predictable outcomes

What we need from you.

5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager within construction

Strong working knowledge of AS-based contracts, regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements

Commercially astute, with disciplined approaches to cost control, forecasting and risk management

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders

Proven leadership capability, with a passion for mentoring others, raising standards and building sustainable systems and processes

What’s in it for you.

Join a privately owned construction and property group with a diverse and growing project portfolio

Step into a role where you'll be trusted to influence delivery strategy, establish best-practice standards and shape how projects are delivered—not simply manage them

Work alongside experienced, approachable leaders who are actively involved in the business and genuinely invested in the success of their people

Enjoy a modern office

Access paid parental leave designed to support employees and their families.

Benefit from clear career development pathways and opportunities for progression across the growing Mazzei Group

Be part of a values-led organisation with a genuine commitment to people, quality and excellence

Work in a thoughtfully designed office environment that supports collaboration, wellbeing and productivity

At Mazzei Group, we’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and supported to thrive. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, people with disability, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

To join our team and be considered for this opportunity, you must have full Australian working rights.
