Job description

Maine Family Planning is seeking a Medical Assistant to work a 4-or 5-day (30 or 37.50 hours a week) schedule at our Belfast location. Travel to another site will be required one day a week if interested in working the 5-day schedule.

The Medical Assistant assists family planning providers in the delivery of administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner as required by the State of Maine. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor are required. Follows Maine Family Planning policies and clinical protocols. Candidate may be expected to occasionally travel to other clinics within an hour of the Belfast location

Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:

  • 1-2 years working in social/health services.
  • Ability to be organized, manage systems, computer skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and CLIA guidelines
  • Experience working with electronic medical records.
  • Commitment to family planning mission

The following education requirements are considered essential:

  • Certification from a Medical Assistant Training Program preferred.
