Shuttle Bus / Rigid Frame Haul Truck Operator

MacKay Contracting is looking for a reliable and safety-focused Haul Truck Operator / Shuttle Bus Driver to support our civil and mining operations. This role is primarily responsible for operating haul trucks, while also supporting the team as a shuttle bus driver and spare operator as operational needs require.

This position is ideal for someone who is versatile, team-oriented, and comfortable stepping into different roles to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

Shuttle Bus Driver

• Safely transport employees to and from site or designated locations as required
• Ensure passengers follow safety requirements (seatbelts, PPE, site rules)
• Maintain cleanliness and complete daily inspections of the shuttle bus

Spare Operator Support

• Act as a spare operator for other equipment when required, based on qualifications and site needs
• Provide operational coverage during absences, shift changes, or peak activity periods
• Support general site operations as directed by supervision

What You Bring to the Table

• 1–3+ years operating CAT rigid frame haul trucks
• Valid Class 1 or Class 2 Driver’s License with clean Drivers Abstract
• Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions and handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• A strong safety mindset — FLHAs aren’t just paperwork to you
• Confidence driving in all weather, to and from site
• A solid work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work solo or as part of a crew
• Stable work history, ideally in an industrial or mining environment
• Good communication skills and a willingness to take direction and keep learning
