Join Our Team as a Software Configuration Developer
At Foster Moore International we’re proud to develop world-class registry solutions for governments and organisations around the globe. As our global footprint expands we’re looking for a Junior Software Configuration Developer to join our high-performing Application Support Team in Auckland.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your contributions will directly support the success of national and international registries.
About the Role
As a Junior Software Configuration Developer, you will work as part of a dedicated support team to deliver quality production support, configuration and enhancements to our global registry clients. You’ll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders – including clients, business analysts, developers, testers and project managers – to configure, develop and maintain registry applications based on detailed functional and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Development
- Customize software components based on client requirements
- Follow design and specification documents to ensure consistency and quality
- Testing
- Conduct unit and integration testing of configured components
- Support QA teams during system and user acceptance testing phases
- Support & Continuous Improvement
- Provide ongoing production support for live systems
- Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to enhancing application performance and reliability
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT environment
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Groovy, C#, PHP), with Java preferred
Technical Skills
- Good understanding of system design, programming concepts, and database fundamentals
- Keen interest in web technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, JSON, CSS)
- Understanding of common web service technologies (REST or SOAP)
- Familiar with software development lifecycle (SDLC); experience with Agile (Scrum or Kanban) is a plus
- Practical experience with SDLC tools (e.g. Jira, Jenkins)
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases; experience with NoSQL databases is advantageous
- Familiar with source control tools and workflows (e.g. Git, SVN)
- Knowledge of ITIL and DevOps practices is advantageous
- Exposure to AI tools is advantageous
