Location: Gloucester Salary: £33,500 - £36,500 per year Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week Schedule: One shift per week on rota, with remaining hours scheduled in accordance with the needs of the home. Sleep-ins and on-call responsibilities paid at a supplementary rate

The Role
As Residential Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in launching and leading this new home, helping to create strong foundations, develop an outstanding team, and ensure exceptional standards of care from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Support the opening, leadership, and day-to-day management of the new children’s home
- Help build and develop a strong, child-focused team culture
- Supervise, guide, and motivate staff
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for young people
- Support compliance, care planning, and operational excellence
- Assist with financial oversight and home performance
- Act as a safe and inspiring role model
- Complete one shift per week on rota
- Work flexibly to meet the operational needs of the home
- Participate in sleep-in and on-call responsibilities
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience within a residential childcare setting
- QCF Level 3 Children & Young People Workforce qualification
- Full UK driving licence
- Own vehicle with business insurance
- Enhanced DBS check
- Flexibility to work rota-based hours, sleep-ins, and on-call duties
