Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home
Location: Gloucester Salary: £34,362 – £36062 (*inclusive of sleep-ins – approx. 7 per month) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Schedule: Shift work, including some weekends

The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager and wider team to deliver outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key responsibilities
- Support children to feel safe, valued, and cared for
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
- Help children process past experiences and develop life skills
- Promote a calm, structured, and nurturing home environment
- Maintain accurate records and reports using IT systems
- Support daily routines, activities, and care planning
- Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team
Requirements
Essential
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual), held for at least 12 months
- Willingness to work shift patterns, including weekends
- Ability to work within a safeguarding and trauma-informed environment
Desirable
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – training can be provided
- Experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma
