General Summary
The Fixed Site Operations Leader will be responsible for the successful execution of Fixed Site Operations in the absence of the Fixed Site Operations Supervisor.
The Leader will ensure the collection of safe, pure and potent blood products while ensuring the delivery of an exceptional donor experience.
Responsible for providing work instruction and feedback to ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) are followed.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Tasks
· Exhibit a positive leadership role for staff.
· Ensure the delivery of an exceptional donation experience.
· Maintain a good working relationship with co-workers.
· Effectively establish rapport with blood donors through professional representation of the blood center.
· Provide specific work direction to team members, monitor the collection operations and the deliver feedback on performance.
· Maintain the cleanliness and compliance of the Fixed Site with the STB&T brand standard.
· Ensure that the quality control function has been appropriately performed and documented IAW SOP.
· Ensure that donor eligibility is appropriately determined through comprehensive medical history interview, medical screening procedures (blood pressure, pulse, temperature and Hgb/Hct via finger stick).
· Ensure all necessary records are legible, accurate and complete.
· Perform donor screening, phlebotomy, automated collections, record review and data entry procedures.
· Prevent, assess and treat adverse reactions.
· Maintain a good working relationship with Supervisor including reporting issues relating to donors, team members, equipment and the facility.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Tasks
· Provide assistance to other departments as needed.
Education
Required Minimum Education
Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
Preferred Education
Prefer one or more years of medical education.
Licenses and/or Certifications
· Valid United States Driver’s License
· Certification as a Medical Assistant and/or Donor Phlebotomy Technician preferred
Experience
Required Minimum Experience
· Requires two or more years of job specific experience to include one year as a Donor Care Specialist.
· In lieu of one year of blood or plasma experience, one year of relevant leadership experience may be considered.
Preferred Experience
Experience Exception to Education
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge
· Must acquire knowledge of effective leadership techniques.
· Must maintain knowledge of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements concerning donor suitability criteria, test reporting, donor deferral and donor reentry protocols.
· Must acquire a working knowledge of donor processing criteria.
· Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
· Must acquire a working knowledge of medical terminology.
· Must become familiar with the community and area serviced by the Fixed Site location.
Skills
· Must have excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
· Must have strong computer skills.
· Must demonstrate competency in performing screening, phlebotomy, automated collections, donor care and data entry.
· Must be capable of determine daily Fixed Site production capacity and having production flow-based conversations.
· Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.
· Must be able to print and write legibly.
· Must have strong customer service skills.

· Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.
· Must be professional, organized, detail oriented, communicative, and have the ability to greet the public in a friendly and courteous manner.

Working Environment & Travel Requirements
Works in a well-lighted air conditioned and heated laboratory/department.
May be exposed to electrical, mechanical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to a laboratory environment.
May be exposed to blood borne pathogens and other conditions common to a clinical laboratory environment.
May have bodily exposure to refrigerator/freezer temperature, especially hands and face.
May be required to work any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization.
Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours.
Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires ability to reach, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
