Job description
1- QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in process design engineering.
- Experience working in engineering consultancy companies.
2- RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop design criteria, basis of design reports, and process narratives for wastewater treatment facilities.
- Perform process calculations including flow projections, mass balances, hydraulic profiles, organic and nutrient loading analyses, and sludge production estimates.
- Design and size wastewater treatment processes such as:
- Preliminary treatment (screening, grit removal)
- Primary treatment
- Biological treatment systems (Activated Sludge, MBBR, IFAS, SBR, MBR, oxidation ditches, etc.)
- Secondary clarification
- Tertiary treatment and filtration systems
- Nutrient removal systems
- Disinfection systems (chlorination, UV)
- Sludge thickening, dewatering, stabilization, drying, and disposal systems
- Odor control systems
- Prepare and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), hydraulic profiles, and process layouts.
- Evaluate and optimize treatment processes to achieve regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Prepare process datasheets and technical specifications for treatment equipment.
- Review vendor technical submissions and shop drawings.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations and equipment selection.
- Coordinate with package system suppliers to ensure compliance with process requirements.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Provide process input for equipment layouts, piping arrangements, and control philosophies.
- Participate in design reviews, value engineering workshops, HAZOP studies, and client meetings.
- Prepare process sections of tender documents and technical specifications.
- Support procurement activities through technical clarifications and bid evaluations.
